"If absence makes the heart grow fonder people must really love our Church"-this is the Beliefnet joke of the day.
Like all humor it touches on and scalps the truth a bit.
How does the church make itself more relevant than just another social service organization doling dollars to the needy (not that this is a bad mission, but works without Faith and Love is deader than a doorknob)
For starters, I suggest it stop persecuting itself.
Secondly, I suggest that it stop taking it's stupid pills, they have outlived their usefulness, the dumbing down intelligence-insulting, tiresome reductio ad absurdum of everything not toting the mindless party line is temptation undoes about two thousand years of what the Spirit is doing in the world.
Thirdly, I suggest that it stop confusing Love with Temptation because it is driving Jesus out of his church.
Lastly, stick to the original message- It was a good one. Rather timeless. God is Love.
Get it? God is Love. God isn't a budget, God isn't a building, God isn't a code of cannon law. God is Love. God is Love. God is Love. God is Love. (Anti-Emm we are not in Kansas anymore.)
