Twofers

And it's Your Lucky Week-end.

Saint Jane de Chantal, a French saint who was widowed in her late 20s after bearing six children, and the wife of a french nobleman is celebrated on August 12th.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Frances_de_Chantal.

Three of her children died very young. She was blessed to meet up with a Francis de Sales (priest and saint) and started an order of religious called The Visitation, after the Visitation to Mary by the Angel Gabriel announcing the birth of Jesus.

August 12 is also Our Lady of Guadeloupe's Feast Day. So it must be a really special day.

You can celebrate Jane deChantal and all things French by coming to the dinner sponsored by the deChantal group at Holy Trinity in Georgetown after the 5:30 Mass Saturday evening.
The deChantal group is open to all singles. This month's themed dinner is appropriately French cuisine and dijon chicken will be served- also appropriate because Jane deChantal was from Dijon, the region after which the mustard is named. These all you can eat feasts with wine are a bargain and the funds go toward worthy causes. For further details please email the co-communicator of the group-
Bob Sauer at RSauer [at] aol.com (You can pay at the door)

Its the funnest best way to spend a Saturday evening I can think of in
DC and always attracts an interesting collection of spiritually seeking people.
