You may not know that there is a Jesuit Brother from Philadelphia who is currently a Deacon and will soon be ordained a priest on September 13th at Holy Trinity. He is most famous for being that guy who wrote a book on making bread and another one on making soup. http://www.tower.com/secrets-jesuit-breadmaking-rick-curry-paperback/wapi/101710964
You gotta love this guy- and you have to buy his books.
While no one probably likes to be called "the one armed priest" he wears it neither like a badge of honor nor a disability because he turned it into a blessing for so many in starting schools, theatres and kitchens for the disabled doing everything as wonderfully able with a joy rivalled by none. What a delightful guy.
He inspired me to pick up a music score after a rather depressing summer where all notes went flat and so I am a soprano at his Mass celebration. Come one, come all and join the chorus of celestial hymns and perhaps a Mendelsohn medley. If Father Curry can bake bread with one arm, I can flounce Bobby Flay with my lasagna primavera.
Please pray for us all Father Curry.
