The Book of Life
Whenever I go to an event or lecture around town there is usually a list of people sitting on a table at the door. When you come, they check to see if your name is on the list. If it is there, they tick off your name and you get to enter. If you are not on the list there could be a problem.
If the host shows up and you actually know the host, he can solve the problem by just saying "It's OK, She's With Me." Phew.
Someone sent you an email and invited you. You signed up. Your name is on the list. You were pre-approved apparently. You had to respond. You had to say, Yes. I want to go there.
Jesus pre-approves your invitation to join him. He came that none should perish but that all should have eternal life. He loved you before you even figured out who he was. If you accept this invitation, your name is in his book of Life. You enter.
If the authorities at the door see Jesus and he says "It's OK, She's with me" you are in.
No more questions. They don't need to know your net worth, your litany of past transgressions, your arguments against the organization in past. If you are cool with Jesus, you are in.
It's OK. He's with me.
