The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception invites you to the 2009 Octave of Easter Celebrity Organ Recital. It will be given on Sunday 19th April at 6pm (freewill offering) by Olivier Latry, the titular organist at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame Paris. Latry’s distinguished playing has been acknowledged the world over in both concert and in recordings of Bach, DuruflĂ©, Vierne, Widor and Messiaen.
Latry has performed in more than forty countries on five continents and made his first American tour during the fall of 1986. Since then, he has made annual tours to the US, playing recitals in many major cities coast to coast. We are delighted to be able to welcome him here to the Basilica as this year’s celebrity recitalist and hope that you will be able to join us for some inspirational music-making on the Shrine’s organ.
