PEACEMAKERS

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." – Matthew 5:9
How do you want to be remembered? What kind
of reputation do you crave? Jesus is saying in the seventh beatitude that happiness comes from caring about your reputation for the right reason. What's that? To be know as "children of God." And how do you build a reputation as a beautiful child of God? By being a peacemaker. Isaiah 58:12 says, "…be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings." We see breaches all around us. We see them in families, between labor and management, between nations, and between political parties.
Being a peacemaker is risky. But it's essential if breaches are to be repaired. When God sees a breach, he builds a bridge. And he calls us to do the same by being peacemakers.
Be a peacemaker and your reputation as a child of God will shine.
