In New York City
The Catholic lay organization Communion and Liberation and its cultural arm Crossroads are having a three day conference in New York this week-end kicked off
with Mary Ann Glendon, Harvard Law Prof and former Vatican Ambassador's presentation in which she discussed the 'vocation' of politics. From Cicero to Burke she discusses what philosophers wrestle with when trying to make a difference. I picked up her Her new book The Forum and the Tower and so far it is a fascinating read. Her writing style is refreshingly unpretentiously candid and deep at the same time. Here is a woman who knows the commandment to Love God with your whole mind seriously, and she clearly has fun at it. Five thumbs up on her book. If you are in New York, its at the Manhattan Center.
