It's Official in Belgium.
Belgian Parliament [officially] Votes 95-18 to Declare Pope's Condom Remarks "Unacceptable"

The Belgian envoys and ambassadors are officially urged to rebuke the Pope's remarks.
This follows official governmental denouncements of France, Spain, Luxembourg and Germany of the condom remarks and dissent of Bishops in Germany and Portugal.
But there is a guy at Harvard who agrees with him.
[Note to file, dissent on this point may also get you evicted by the Doctrine Police for undermining the orthodoxy in America]
Editorial comment: obviously the ideal scenario is that everyone learn to be abstinent and maritally monogomous, defer intimate relations until marriage and stay married for life and we should not excuse cultural expressions to the contrary as everyone is capable of upholding the same moral high ground and it is a subtle bigotry of low expectation to think Africans can't be equally abstinently virtuous as well as the Western world isn't. But people who sin (by, i.e. sleeping with an infected person) should not be given a death sentence for their sin if it is avoidable by a simple piece of latex. No one says it isn't sin, we just think you should not get the death sentence for it any more than someone who overeats sugar intake and is diabetic should be deprived of insulin. If you are worried that distribution of condoms will encourage more promiscuity how about mandating that all condoms come with red letters all over them stating "If you are not married and using this you will go to Hell and if it breaks she will sue you for the child support."
