When he made the comment about Michele Bachman in Iowa to run for President "and that's all I have for that joke" I got nervous. ---because this is exactly NOT how to gain points for the democrats- you don't mock women attorneys whatever their differences of policy or opinion. The cultural juxtaposition between the haughty snide joke crackin wise acres from New York and a mother of four from the heartland who is also a lawyer and a two term representative (e.g. her people love her) doesn't play in Peoria. This kind of stuff, with the rolling your eyes at newscasters "are you done?" -newscasters who in one case is in addition to being a highly rated media professional is also a female attorney (as if cute nets out intelligence), backfires. It just shows lack of respect for anyone not of your cultural ilk. I hope this kind of wise-acre stuff doesn't progress too far into the 2012 season or the Dems will be in for a rude surprise, because middle America finds that just rude. And disrespectful to women. Whatever striped women. Even women who think other women are out to lunch policywise don't like it when wise acre men derride and mock them. There is really nothing a "joke" about a two term House Representative, a tax attorney reformer and mother of four running for President. What-you prefer a teeny weeney Wiener?
