Sacre Cordium--Sacre Coeur
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is something that transcends the realm of mere legalistic black -letter right and wrong.
Jesus was concerned with the state of heart, purity of heart- thus it is adultery if you "lust in your heart" and if you hate your brother it is analogous to murder. If you call your brother a fool or say "Raca" that is a sin worthy of Gehenna.
Man sees on the outside- Jesus sees the HEART.
This is why the Pharisee were so offensive to him- they were like whitewashed tombs -all pretty, pious and proper on the outside but full of dead men's bones and every filthy self-righteous burden imposing hypocritical thought on the inside. The few times Jesus gets frothing angry at anyone it is against either the Temple Money Changers or the Pharisees- vipers, he even calls them. Snakes- slick and spouting venom. (the Pharisees also profited from the Money Changer's objectionable activities.)
Pharisees were so much the very definition of hypocricy that the term "pharisaic" and "hypocritical" are now completely synonymous. Look it up.
This reminds me of this current abortion debate. You have men -devoted to celibacy and chastity--who have denied every urge and opportunity to create new Life, in fact totally killed Life potential of any woman who was interested in them while they tell how they left them at the altar to check into their cloistered studies so that eventually they could self-righteously lecture the world on the evils of abortion--and essentially pad their own coffers. GET SERIOUS.
Really, the Bishops need to stop. They hurt only the Church. They do not have standing to speak on this point. They never supported or created new Life. They never fathered a natural child, they never supported a pregnant woman emotionally, or financially for the duration of a pregnancy. And the numbers of women hurt by statements and/or actions of the Men in Dresses against them could fill the Verizon Center.
Just Stop. Or the IRS might have to look into the Tax Exempt status of those people in clerical robes clearly trying to squew the election. Really, how dare you- and I don't even want to know about all the "Faith Based Funding" that went into the Building Development Fund.
