Women don't want to be picked just because we are women; we want to be elevated equally on merit when it is due. Palin's daughter is just due. It's insulting to elevate women just because they are women when they do not merit it--particularly when so many actually do.

Obama doesn't want folks talking about this mess- because someone might find out his 18 year old mother wasn't married either when he was conceived- but that isn't the point. No one cares because the Democrats have not made a religion out of abstinence education and sexual ethics- the Republicans have. And there are few things more offensive than shouting at the spec in your neighbor's eye when there is a log in yours. It's OK if the person with the spec fesses up to the spec.
