THE PALIN PREDICAMENT

To Vet or Not To Vet; That is the Question

The buzz about Palin persists- kind of like an annoying bee around your head when you are trying to sunbathe. Here is why she is such a bad choice- no - a completely moronic choice-

The Good American Mom and Grandmom and every Good American Aunt worth her salt out there tried like hell to keep her daughter or niece or grand-daughter or God-daughter or neighbor's daughter out of the kind of trouble this 17 year old daughter of Palin now finds herself in. We in fact made this our worrying business to keep our daughters, god-daughters and nieces straight, taught them to have self respect and dignity enough to value their virtue, say no, study hard, advance in sports or school or anything else where virtue counted, and not fall into the seductions of teenage male hormones. We all tried like hell to maintain our girl's virtue. Lots of us in fact succeeded. Our girls are good girls and it was our most important job to keep them that way.

Palin did not succeed.

And Palin acts like it's no big thing. McCain acts like it's no big thing- whatever, we knew and didn't care (which is almost worse than not knowing at all.)

Here's the deal- Palin isn't running for head of "Promises" Rehab in Malibu where the sluttery quotient is a qualification for entry. She is running for Vice President as the only woman the Republicans have ever put up on such a ticket. This is why it is so offensive, and an insult to every Good American Mother, Good American Aunt and Good American Grandmother who knows the value of virtue and did everything they could to preserve it in their families.
