The Better half of my soul is French, so is my mother's ancestry.
So in my continuing saga of let's love the French who gave us Freedom and Fries (Lafayette and Pomme Frites) I here cite the list of common english/american phrases that came from
the French. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/french-phrases.html
You know that English phrase "tootles"- said like bye bye. You won't believe it but it also
comes from the French. It comes from 'a toute a l'heure' which means 'until the appointed time' essentially- like, see you later until that hour we discussed. A toute a l'heure was shortened to first Tootle Lou then
Tootles in English. Funny, huh. Drole (which means funny in French and is also an English word -means funny with a touch of continental subtlety)- So you see, we are one in the Spirit one in the Lord, like hand in glove the French and Americans. So now lets start acting like it.
