Normal?
The discussion of the new Texas law in which ultrasounds have to be shown before any pregancy can be 'terminated' e.g. you off your offspring, generated controversy on the view wherein one of the participants announced she has had multiple abortions because she wouldn't have had the capacity to deal with having a child then. This is a defense to offing your offspring? Has it occurred to her, even after the first abortion, that she probably shouldn't be having sex if she wasn't ready to have a child? Why are we coddling stupidity instead of babies??

Americans have lost their blush. They treat sex like eating- its an appetite that has to be gratified. And they have lost the sacred of it in many places and cases. It is part of the 'hook up' culture. Its what is tried to see if a relationship "works out." This is a paradigmal shift from what use to be the norm.
Sex used to be treated so specially that most of the population tried to wait until they were married before they lost their virginity.
I am half a century old now. One of the biggest motivating factors when I was growing up not to have sex was fear of pregnancy out of order with the wrong person. It motivated abstinence and voluntary celibacy.
Body parts are so misused now that the sacred is driven out of them. It is shockingly sad that someone today would feel it not so outrageous to announce on national television that they had multiple abortions- while people just give it a 'oh poor you' pat on the back. This is really a tragic turn in society that public policy has facilitated with the normalization of abortion politics. To have had multiple abortions means you killed off several of your children. When the real gravity of that really hits home to the nation, we are going to have a serious reckoning and it is going to be ugly.
