Professional Courtesy For Mass Murderers?
This Administration in its refusal to prosecute the misdeeds of the previous administration deeply betrayed it's base and the country. More than that- they betrayed the American ideals on which the country was founded and by not prosecuting torture has arguably violated the Geneva Convention.
Look-there is no disagreement that we were going around the country torturing people- lots of them- eliciting false confessions. We destroyed lives. Millions of them.
This Administration was voted in, and everyone working on this administration's campaign to correct the horrendous evil of the previous administration and people worked to elect this Administration thinking that they would be an abrupt about face from the unbelievably satanic misdeeds of the previous administration. But what did we do- as a country- we rewarded some of the worst culprits- Condi Rice, who refused to even testify at the 9-11 Commission was given a prestigious appointment as a chief of a major US University who should be ashamed to have her on faculty. Bybee is sitting on the Ninth Circuit (an author of the 'torture memos')-and Bush who should be tried like Milosovich is sitting on talk shows promoting his book glibly defending his right to Torture.
This is disgusting and outrageous.
This is reason enough to run someone else as a Democratic contender for Obamas seat and I hope he goes heavily contested for the primary. Someone with backbone needs to run against him unless he starts getting really serious really quickly about what we are going to do to address all the unbelievable EVIL that preceded him.
