She lost the Republican primary but not hope- she did something astonishing and I give her credit regardless of party. She had a 'write-in' campaign. Amazing. Senator from Alaska, Lisa Murkowski. You know her. You like her. You know how to spell her name. Palin in her own home town/state could not endorse the winner. It's not that a prophet isn't welcome in her own home town, it's that they actually know her- and her clout carries better shooting up bear in the wildnerness apparently. Leave politics to the real deals. The big girls. Proud to be a fellow Georgetowner. Murkowski was one of five Republican senators who voted with Democrats for the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.[10]
