WETA, the Maryland Public television station is running a set of shows based on the five DVD series on "Secrets of the Vatican."

I just caught a few segments of it but looks really historically interesting. Did you know for example which Pope instituted the Vatican Radio? Did you know that it was instrumental in keeping people abreast of underground liberation movements against totalitarianisms of the earlier 20th Century in spite of the censorship of these countries broadcast on short-wave to keep the faith alive? Vatican Radio is streamed in RSS to the right of this blog. It is broadcast in many different languages than those listed to the right.
Did you know that in 1983 JPII instituted the Vatican Television station?
I recommend getting this series for your Library. Buy it for your Pastor or Church.
You can get the whole 5 volume DVD with a glossy book for a $350 donation to public television in Maryland. Like all of WETA's series this is a very well done production.
