The Three Men I Admire Most

Father, Son and the Holy Ghost

That's the Don McClean Song.
"God Doesn't Need Partners" decried the Suffi Master woman who calls herself a "Sheika."

The Holy Trinity is a mystery but as it does not violate the God is One principle it isn't a partnership.

Last night at Miriam's Kitchen where we feed around 200 homeless people twice a day now, the dinner entre was "chicken pomodoro." Everyone got one for one entre as their main protein.
Chicken Pomodoro was made by placing sliced marinated chicken breasts on toasted rolls covered with a tomato sauce then sprinkled with shredded Mozarella. Yum. That is one dish. It is made of many components- chicken is not cheese is not bread, but all together makes Chicken Pomodoro. No one would say that it was not one dish.

Then there is water. Water has several elements. It consists of one part hydrogen for two parts oxygen (or is it the other way around?). H2O. Water. Water has many properties that can do different things. As Ice it makes drinks cold. As a river it houses fish. As a tear it cleans ducts and relieves emotions. It is all H2O. Water. No one would say "Water doesn't need partners" when noting that it can both house fish, chill drinks and relieve emotions.

The mystery of the Holy Trinity is a mystery. How it is three in one is for Him to know and for us to find out. But nature on earth gives us more clues than we need to believe this foundational faith principle. God can shoot an offshoot of a human son as creator of heaven and earth without diminishing himself just as lighting another candle does not diminish the first flame.

Hear Oh Israel. The Lord Our God, the Lord is ONE.
