That Michael Steele Still Doesn't Get It.
People do not respond well outside your general audience to name calling. You might get a hearty whooping cheer to your base when you call your opposition "low class" but to the rest of us it looks like code for something more sinister- and your constant obsessive compulsion to slander the opposition with labels and threats. People don't respond well to people being threatened, whether it is against them directly or people they know. People have Democrats in their families that they love. Over HALF of all catholics in the country affiliate with the Democrats now, not the Republicans. No one likes their loved ones slandered, maligned or threatened. But this persists in being the insulting Republican mantra. It is a culture of self-rightousness misplaced; a culture of slander and a culture of insult.
When you don't have anything constructive to say and no real policy substance, just spit insults- people will get sick of it and you will guarantee this will be the highlight of your career. Keep it up. We couldn't ask for a better Opposition strategy.
