Honor on the House

Education-it's a Good Thing.

Martha Stewart should be hired for the Rangel PR campaign: "College- It's a Good Thing."
Maybe then we won't get these ridiculous condemnations that Charlie Rangel used Congressional letterhead to do fundraising for a college in New York (that named him a building or something in his honor because he was so good at it.)

Doesn't that bring tremendous honor on the House? A sitting Congressman with a record of some 40 years of helping people move on up, successfully raises a pile of money for an inner school in a major metropolitan area-they are so appreciative they name a building after him- and Congress is ticked off they used congressional letterhead?? Who wrote these 'ethics' rules anyway? Who is scandalized by this? What on earth could the 'penalty' for that be?? We will now penalize you for helping educate so many New Yorkers we will name instead the GED test after you. Seriously ZOE. What is the punishment for that?
Make him give money instead in equal amounts to your alma mater or the U. California system
that you did not assist to nearly the same magnitude obviously- because they are really hurting? Make him support the U. of Santa Clara ? That's fair?

Isn't that something anyone would reasonably think qualified as constituent services? It benefits people in his district doesn't it?

Charlie Rangel is a national treasure, he isn't the "swamp" to use a term with racist overtones even when used by a democrat.

What is bringing dishonor on the House is this petty persecution of such a senior member. I am frankly appalled.
