Once upon a time
...there once was a curmudgeonly bachelor uncle (you may have one too)- a bit of a cross between Ebenezer and the Knights that go Ni!
After putting on a fancy luncheon, catered and served by his paid "help" for family a beautiful four year old great nephew sat opposite him. About sixty years, and expensive china over a floral centerpiece separated them. "Say the Thanksgiving Song you learned in church pre-school" said the great-nephew's Mommy. The old uncle said grumpily "oh my, I don't need to hear some thanksgiving song, let him be." ---- at which point the great nephew shocked the room by literally yelling "But I Neeeeeeeeeeeeed you to hear the Thanksgiving Song!!" and he proceeded in four year old harmony to sing "we are so grateful, god is so good...." The uncle teared up and smiled.
This is the only being on the planet who can yell to that particular uncle and shut him up.
It was priceless.
Of course, God is not nearly as curmudgeonly as my uncle nor as rich (kidding.). But he still likes to hear us say the Thanksgiving Song.
Give Thanks, Sing Praise to the Lord
For he is GOOD
and his Mercy endures Forever.
